Reflect

We can’t always fix what’s wrong for our children, no matter how much we want to, but we can sit with them in it. We can listen and let them know that they don’t have to work it all out alone.

Sometimes the best thing we can do is just sit beside them, not filling the silence or rushing the moment, while they find their own way through. It’s a comfort, just knowing they’re not alone with their thoughts.

To reflect with someone is a quiet kind of love that says, I’m here, take your time, I’m not going anywhere, and sometimes that is enough to help them find a bit of peace.
