There’s a kind of tired that sleep doesn’t fix, the kind that comes from being needed all the time and builds up day after day. When you’re barely holding yourself together and there’s no one else to step in, but someone else needs you more, so you keep going.
Motherhood is full of that bone deep tired giving. You learn to run on half empty after pouring parts of yourself out over and over. It’s not easy, but love demands it. It doesn’t ask if you’re ready or wait until you’re rested, it just turns up, hungry and loud, and you have to meet it anyway.
Sometimes enduring doesn’t look brave or strong. Sometimes it’s lying flat on your back, drained, while they crawl all over you. It’s letting yourself fall down for a bit without guilt, knowing it doesn’t mean you love them any less. It just means you’re human, and that’s ok.
